Lord Manjunatha, a manifestation of Lord Shiva, is worshipped in the Kadri Manjunatheswarar Temple. One of the earliest Shiva temples in the area, it was constructed in the tenth century and features Vijayanagara architecture. The idol is seated in an unusual yoga pose. The elevated position of the temple complex, where numerous water ponds and a natural spring known as Gomukha can be seen, is one of its distinctive features.
