Take a journey through the wonders of ancient and modern Japan with a day trip that shows you the historic cities of Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe. With destinations from the peaceful bamboo forest of Arashiyama to the lively Kobe Mosaic, you get a look at centuries' worth of culture.

A tour bus brings you north from Kyoto or Osaka to the mountains on the western side of Kyoto, where you step out for a chance to explore the idyllic Arashiyama district. Admire the cherry blossom trees, the greenery-lined banks of the Hozu River, and the towering bamboo stalks of the Sagano forest, where a walkway takes you past the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Tenryu-ji temple.

Next, you get a chance to admire the 3-tiered pagoda of Kinkaku-ji, the Temple of the Golden Pavilion, which gets its name from its walls of gleaming gold leaf. It's then time to visit the historic city of Nara, where a stroll in Nara Park lets you see the 1,200 or so wild deer that live freely within the park. Within Nara Park you will find the Todai-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Your last stop of the day is at the bustling shopping centre of Kobe Mosaic, home to dozens of restaurants and shops filled with fashionable products and souvenirs. Have a Halal bento provided by Vitti Halal Cafe Osaka for your dinner.
