What you can expect

  • Drive along the Emerald Coast to Mont-Saint-Michel with a local guide who will share stories of the monks, abbots, pilgrims, and pirates that called this place home. Enjoy the tranquility of this abbey on the sea and take in the views from its high windows.
    The day starts at 9:00 AM with pickup from your accommodation in Rennes. As you drive along one of the most charming roads in France, your guide will tell you all about the history and well-kept secrets of this site.
    At approximately 10:00 AM, arrive at Mont-Saint-Michel and enjoy a guided tour of the abbey, the church, and the surrounding village. After working up a hunger, sit down for some local specialities at the best restaurant on the island. Don't forget to try the Mère Poulard Omelette and salted grass lamb.

    Next, drive to Cancale, a little village nestled in a bay. Learn the history of this town, which is the home to the “Belon of Cancale” and the best place in France to harvest oysters. See how these creatures are raised and even taste them. Alternatively, visit Pointe du Grouin, a lovely spot for bird watchers and landscape enthusiasts.
    The last stop of the day is Saint Malo, the famous walled city with a long history of piracy. Stories from long ago come to life as you explore this popular tourist destination with your guide. After a full day of touring, the adventure ends at approximately 7:00 PM in Rennes.
