Description

If you are looking for a fun and quick way to get to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary then this is the boat ride for you. This does not incorporate the usual commentary of a cruise as we make our way there as quick as possible. This is a great tour for those who are short on time.

The Koala Express is our fast boat to the oldest and largest Koala Sanctuary in the world. Join this fun ride on the Brisbane River, through the city's most historic landscapes, iconic attractions, historical home sites and interesting wildlife habitats. This is a “must do” experience while in Brisbane.

We have two departure options: The Earlybird Tour which leaves from the city at 9am and the Relaxed Departure which leaves the city at 11am. Both tours give you 2.5 hours to explore the sanctuary at your own leisure. Plenty of time to see the Koalas, hand feed Kangaroos, see the Flight Raptor Show and the Sheep Dog Show, as well as seeing many other Australian Native Animals.

We had an excellent day at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. We decided to take the express cruise over the slower cruise and don't regret it. It is windy, but it is a smooth, quick trip up the river. The sanctuary is great with lots of opportunities to see koalas and other Aussie animals up close. I suggest getting in the line up quickly for koala photos, because they only take a certain number of photos. You are allowed to take photos with your own camera after the professional photo is done. Captain Michael was our boat captain and was friendly and fun! If you have any mobility issues, this is not the tour for you. You have to be able to climb a small ladder from the speedy boat onto the slow boat to get onto the wharf at Lone Pine. You then have to climb a hill to the entrance.
