What you can expect
Discover the highlights of Dali on a full-day guided tour. Visit Chongsheng Temple Three Pagodas, Longkan, and Dali Ancient City.
Start your day with a visit to the Chongsheng Temple Three Pagodas. Admire the main Qianxun Pagoda, which stands proudly, towering and majestic, like a resolute giant guarding the land. The two smaller pagodas stand on either side, like loyal guards, never leaving. Step into each of the main halls and see the Buddha statues enshrined inside.
Next, we will head towards the fascinating Longkan Pier. where Erhai Lake is like a giant mirror carefully polished by nature. Upon arriving at the pier, see colourful and variously shaped pleasure boats neatly lined up.
Select a small boat that suits your taste and row leisurely on the clear lake surface or stroll along the unique ecological corridor of Longkan Pier. Find a viewing platform with a wide view and excellent scenery of the magnificent scenery between Cangshan Mountains and Erhai Lake. Immerse yourself and feel the unique charm generously bestowed by nature on Dali.
During lunch/dinner, you can look for a popular nearby restaurant and embark on a delicious exploration journey of Dali cuisine.
Try the must-order signature dish, casserole fish. The restaurant carefully selects fresh Erhai Lake fish, combines it with tender tofu as smooth as custard and smooth, chewy vermicelli, and puts them all into a casserole to simmer slowly until the soup thickens like milk and turns as white as jade. Or the the special delicacy of milk fan.
After your meal, we will head back to Dali Ancient City where the magnificent and imposing city gate tower stands towering in front of you.
On the side streets, the traditional Bai ethnic folk houses are arranged in an orderly manner, full of antique charm. The exquisite wood carvings, stone carvings, and colour paintings showcase the ingenuity of Bai ethnic craftsmen and tell the stories of the past.
Arrive at the Wuhua Tower. Climb up the stairs, and have a panoramic view of the entire ancient city. The gray-tiled roofs are layered one after another, and the streets and alleys criss-cross. The Wuhua Tower has gone through the changes of dynasties and the ravages of wars and has been rebuilt many times.
Step into the Foreigners' Street that is full of exotic flavours. European-style buildings stand along the street, and the aroma of coffee fills the air. Stroll leisurely to Fuxing Road. All kinds of special small shops are lined up one after another, like a treasure trove full of rare jewels.
From the exquisitely beautiful tie-dye handicrafts full of ethnic flavours to the uniquely crafted and hand-polished silver ornaments, from the fragrant, sweet, and delicious flower cakes to the refreshing and pleasant Cangshan snow tea for tea-drinking, it is extremely easy to choose travel souvenirs.
Sit down and order a bowl of steaming and fragrant Er Si to try authentic Dali snacks before ending the tour.
