Your day begins with a warm welcome aboard the boat at 8:00, where you'll be served a traditional Cretan breakfast. Enjoy coffee, juice, and homemade cake while you relax and take in the breathtaking views of Chania’s coastline. The peaceful atmosphere will prepare you for a day full of authentic fishing experiences, cooking, and coastal exploration.

Set Sail to the First Fishing Spot
The boat glides smoothly through the pristine waters as you cruise along the Chania coastline for about 30minutes, passing secluded coves and hidden beaches. Enjoy the calm of the Mediterranean.

Watch the Local Fisherman Cast the Nets
At the first stop, it’s time to watch the local fisherman at work. Your guide, a seasoned fisherman, will demonstrate the traditional technique of casting fishing nets, for about an hour. This ancient method has been used by locals for generations, and you’ll have the chance to see it in action. You’ll be able to observe the fisherman as he retrieves the fresh catch. The guide will explain the process, including the best times and techniques for fishing in the area, as well as the different fish species found in these waters.

Sail to the Second Spot & Prepare the Fresh Catch
Once the nets casting demonstration is complete, we’ll sail to a secluded beach, for about 30minutes, or cove where the catch will be transformed into a mouthwatering meal. The boat will anchor, and your guide will set up the table on the boat. Here, you’ll see how the freshly caught fish are prepared using classic Cretan cooking techniques. The method of cooking will depend on the type of fish caught—grilled, stewed, or prepared using other traditional methods. The catch will be combined with fresh local ingredients, such as herbs, olive oil, and vegetables, to create authentic Cretan flavours.

Enjoy a Refreshing Swim
While the meal is being prepared, you’ll have time to unwind and enjoy the Mediterranean waters for about two hours. This peaceful spot is perfect for a refreshing swim or simply lounging on the beach. Feel free to explore the calm waters or relax by the shore and take in the spectacular surroundings. Whether you prefer a swim or a quiet moment on the beach, this is the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of the Crete coastline.

Feast on the Fresh Catch
Once the meal is ready, you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared seafood feast. You’ll savour dishes like grilled fish, seafood stews, local meze, and fresh bread. The method of cooking will vary depending on the type of fish caught, ensuring each dish offers a unique taste of local Cretan cuisine. Alongside the seafood, you’ll also enjoy fresh Cretan salads and other traditional sides, all made with locally sourced ingredients. To complement the meal, you’ll sip on local wine or raki, and soak in the stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Fresh fruit salad will complete your daytrip, while sailing back to the harbour. The daytrip lasts for about 6hours.
