What you can expect
Discover Almadenes Canyon on a rafting trip with expert guides on a level 1 tour suitable for all participants. Admire the beautiful scenery of this protected area known for its riverine forest, rocky landscape, and ancient rock paintings.
Start the trip by rafting along a section of the Segura River. Discover over 150 species of flora and fauna within the towering walls of the canyon as your guide gives a detailed account of the rich biodiversity of the area.
Stop on the banks of the river to visit the Monigotes Cave. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, see a variety of red schematic paintings which are over 8,000 years old. Here the guides will give a rock art workshop/demonstration. Admire these fascinating works which depict human outlines, animal representations, and other mysterious patterns which are difficult to interpret.
Then, board the boat and enter the Cave of the Otters, named for its curious animal inhabitants. Sail out of the mouth of the Alfonso XIII reservoir, before finishing the adventure at La Mulata dam.
