What you can expect

A pristine corner of paradise, a pearl not only of Ogliastra but of the whole island: the glow produced by the sun's rays on the surface of the water contributes to giving the place an aura of enchantment that attracts visitors from all over the world

It may be less well-known than other coves in the Gulf of Orosei – Luna, Goloritzè, and Mariolu – but it will still make your holiday a dream thanks to the blue sea and a very white seafloor of round pebbles. Cala Sisine is located at the end of a codula, or gully, which was once the bed of a river and is now the mouth of a small stream that originates in the Golgo plateau, in the Supramonte di Baunei.

About 200 metres wide, it overlooks the cliffs of the Serra Ovra, which drop steeply from a height of over 500 metres to the sea, flanked, almost enveloped, by rocky ridges, while the gorge is covered by the green of centuries-old carob and holm oak trees. Paradoxically, one of the most beautiful seaside resorts of all has a unique mountain appearance. The waters are iridescent turquoise due to the play of light from the sun reflecting in them. The seabed is made of sand with light-colored limestone grains and rounded stones, ideal if you're diving with a mask and snorkel.

Like Cala Luna, Cala Sisine also has a refreshment point, an oasis surrounded by greenery but easily accessible from the beach. This space offers a relaxing retreat where you can refresh yourself and enjoy the tranquility of the place, allowing visitors to spend a day in complete comfort, without sacrificing contact with nature.

Departures from the harbour are at 10:00 am and 11:00 am, and the return from the beach is scheduled for around 5:45 pm; all times may vary depending on the season.

Cala Gonone is a windy location, but the mistral wind is never a problem for navigation, so you can enjoy a beautiful day under the sun.

Rates vary according to the season; during the summer season, €2.00 will be charged for disembarking at the beach.

It is advisable to always contact the ticket desk for accurate information on departure and re-entry times, on the weather and sea conditions, and on the regular schedule of trips.
