Description

Discover Bruges, an immaculately preserved mediaeval old town, just over the border into Belgium. Team up with an experienced guide to hear stories about this picture-perfect town while you explore charming streets, quaint canals, and exquisite shops selling everything from monk-brewed beer to handmade chocolates.

Meet up with your guide in Amsterdam and hop on board a comfortable shuttle for the quick ride through the countryside and into Belgium. When you arrive, hop out and begin your walking tour with a route that takes you directly to the The Church of Our Lady on the banks of the Djiver Canal. Snap photos of the church's Gothic features and then continue on to Burg Square to join locals criss-crossing its cobbled centre in the shadow of City Hall.

Along the way, get tips on the best places to uncover sweet tooth-satisfying Belgian chocolates, sweet-and-sour ales brewed by robe-clad monks, and crispy waffles topped with fresh fruit. After your hour-long guided walking tour, part ways with your guide to spend the rest of the day exploring on your own before heading back to the meeting point and returning to Amsterdam.

It was great having the guided coach tour as we learned about Dutch life as well as getting a potted history of Bruges. Although the journey was three hours, it was quicker than I expected. It would have been helpful to have the journey time when making the booking from the UK.

This trip was misrepresented by Expedia. I was specifically looking for a guided tour in English only, because I don’t like multi languages tours. I carefully checked the description, it clearly stated “tour in English”. Evidently, the tour was in two languages and it spoiled my entire experience. The tour guide switched from English to Spanish every couple sentences during the entire trip. She did a very good job I must say and this review is in no way reflects on her negatively, it just was not an experience I was looking for.
