What you can expect

Most visitors come to Korea for K-pop, K-dramas, Korean food, and modern city life.

But to truly understand Korea, you must first understand the values and philosophies that shaped Korean society for more than 500 years. And there is no better place to begin that journey than Andong, often called the spiritual and cultural heart of Korea.

This is more than a sightseeing tour. It is a journey into the roots of Korean culture through UNESCO World Heritage sites, Confucian traditions, Buddhist heritage, and the stories of remarkable scholars whose ideas helped shape Korea's identity.

As a fully private tour, this experience is designed exclusively for your group. Before your arrival, we can communicate through WhatsApp to discuss your interests and travel preferences, allowing me to personalise the experience and storytelling for a more meaningful journey.

Accompanied by a nationally licensed guide, you will discover not only historic sites but also the stories, values, and traditions behind them. While many tours focus on where to go, this tour focuses on understanding why these places matter and how they continue to influence Korean society today.

Our journey begins at Bongjeongsa Temple, one of Korea's oldest wooden Buddhist temples, where you can experience the peaceful atmosphere of Korean Buddhism surrounded by nature.

We then visit Byeongsan Seowon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest Confucian academies of the Joseon Dynasty. Here, generations of scholars studied morality, leadership, and harmony with nature.

From Buyongdae Cliff, enjoy breathtaking views overlooking Hahoe Folk Village and the Nakdong River, one of Korea's most iconic landscapes.

After a traditional local lunch, enjoy the famous Hahoe Byeolsingut Mask Dance Performance (except Mondays), a unique cultural tradition combining humour, satire, spirituality, and folk beliefs.

Next, explore Hahoe Folk Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that preserves the atmosphere of Korea's traditional aristocratic society. As we walk through its historic homes and cultural landmarks, you will learn how Confucian values shaped Korean life for generations.

Throughout the day, you will also discover stories of great scholars such as Toegye Yi Hwang and Ryu Seong-ryong, whose influence can still be seen in modern Korea's education, culture, and values.

To end the day, enjoy the peaceful scenery of Nakgangmulgil Park and the beautiful Woryeonggyo Bridge, one of Andong's most beloved landmarks known for its touching love storey.

By the end of this journey, you will not only have visited some of Korea's most beautiful UNESCO heritage sites—you will leave with a deeper understanding of the traditions, philosophies, and cultural foundations that shaped Korea for centuries.

This tour is designed not only for travellers who want to see Korea, but for those who want to truly understand it.
