This 3-hour guided tour brings together local history, Alaskan culture, hands-on experiences, and some of the city’s most beautiful winter scenery.

The gold stays, but you won’t leave empty-handed. Every guest receives an official Anchorage Trolley Token as a complimentary keepsake of their adventure!

Captain Cook Monument (Pass by)

As we embark on this tour, we'll immerse ourselves in the rich history of the renowned explorer, Captain James Cook. We'll trace his epic voyage to Anchorage, learning about his adventures, trials, and discoveries along the way. This man's journey not only shaped the course of exploration history but also left a significant impact on Anchorage itself.

The Ulu Factory

Step inside the Ulu Factory to discover the storey behind the traditional ulu knife and how it’s made. Watch a demonstration of its distinctive curved blade at work, then sample Alaskan reindeer sausage for a taste of local flavour. Before you go, browse the shop for Alaskan gifts—or purchase an ulu of your own. Not every souvenir has to sit on a shelf!

Earthquake Park (Pass by)

As we drive past Earthquake Park, your guide will share the storey of the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake, when a massive landslide carried part of the Turnagain area towards the sea. Hear how the disaster reshaped the city and how neighbors came together in its aftermath to rebuild. Discover the history behind this quiet stretch of Anchorage—all from the warmth of our tour vehicle.

Point Woronzof

  • 15m
At Point Woronzof, you’ll have about 15 minutes to take in sweeping views across Cook Inlet, framed by snow-covered mountains and Anchorage’s winter landscape. On a clear day, you may even be able to spot Denali in the distance. Take a few photos, enjoy the fresh Alaska air, and soak in one of the most scenic views of the tour before we continue on.

Lake Hood Harbor (Pass by)

Cruise through Lake Hood and Lake Spenard, home to Anchorage’s famous floatplane activity. See colourful aircraft lined along the shoreline and, in winter, you may even catch planes taking off or landing on the frozen lake.

Rust's Flying Service

  • 20m
Warm up with coffee and meet an Alaskan bush pilot. Stop at Rust’s Flying Service for a cosy coffee break and a chance to chat with a local bush pilot about what it’s like flying across Alaska. Ask questions, hear a few stories, and snap photos with the planes at Lake Hood before continuing your winter adventure.

Greetings from Alaska Mural
