Overview

  • Discover a different side of Qatar on a guided kayaking adventure through the beautiful Al Thakira Mangrove Forest and Purple Island.

    Your experience begins with convenient pickup from your hotel or accommodation in Doha in an air-conditioned vehicle. Travel north towards Al Thakira, one of Qatar’s most important natural mangrove areas.

    After arriving, your guide will provide a safety briefing and basic kayaking instructions before you enter the water. No previous kayaking experience is required, making this experience suitable for beginners as well as experienced paddlers.

    Paddle through calm mangrove channels surrounded by natural scenery and local birdlife. Depending on the season and weather conditions, you may also have the opportunity to see migratory birds and flamingos.

    The experience also includes time around Purple Island, where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings, take photos, and discover another side of Qatar away from Doha’s city skyline.
