What you can expect

While immersing yourself deep into the culture of Ethiopia, your taste buds will have a busy day in Addis Ababa.

To jumpstart your day, we will make a stop at a Tomoca Coffee shop for a unique taste of Italian-style coffee and macchiato made with Ethiopian arabica beans. As you visit Africa’s largest open air market, Merkato, you will put your bargaining skills to test with the savvy spice dealers. You will be presented with the challenge of baking the spongy injera bread. We will demonstrate step by step Ethiopia's unique coffee ceremony. Your tour will conclude with a tour of a local Ethiopian honey-wine (“Tej”) bar, where you will have the opportunity to taste samples. Tej is a traditional Ethiopian honey wine that shares similarities with mead, being primarily made from fermented honey

You will have a buffet-style lunch at the oldest hotel, with samplings of the popular dishes.
