Kilkenny, Wicklow Mountains, and Glendalough Day Tour
Get ready for a day filled with Ireland’s breathtaking beauty and rich history! This tour takes you from the charming medieval streets of Kilkenny to the tranquil, mist-covered valleys of Glendalough and the dramatic landscapes of the Wicklow Mountains.
You’ll begin your journey in the heart of Kilkenny, a city known for its rich medieval heritage. Stroll through the cobbled streets, where you can admire the impressive Kilkenny Castle, and soak up the atmosphere of this charming city. Whether you’re exploring the old shops or stopping for a quick coffee, you’ll feel the spirit of old Ireland.
After exploring Kilkenny, we venture into the stunning Wicklow Mountains, a region often called “The Garden of Ireland”. On our way, we’ll drive through lush valleys, pass serene lakes, and wind along roads surrounded by majestic hills. Depending on the season, the landscape transforms into a winter wonderland or stays lush and green. We will stop at the Wicklow Gap for a photo stop IF WEATHER PERMITS.
During the winter months, we visit Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains first, followed by Kilkenny in the afternoon.
At Glendalough, you’ll step into a peaceful monastic site that dates back to the 6th century. Wander through ancient ruins, stroll around the reflective lakes, and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding forest. The beauty and serenity of Glendalough are unmatched, and the history here will transport you to another time. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the site and discover its fascinating stories, including its early Christian heritage.
If you’re a nature lover, the Wicklow Mountains will leave you awe-struck. With spectacular views, winding roads, and stops along the way to breathe in the fresh air, you’ll get a true taste of Ireland’s natural beauty. The towering peaks, green valleys, and forested hills make it the perfect backdrop for photos or a peaceful moment of reflection.
This tour is ideal for those wanting to experience Ireland’s stunning natural landscapes, fascinating history, and quaint charm in just one day. Whether you're an adventurer, a history buff, or someone who simply loves to be surrounded by beauty, this tour has something for everyone.
