Bomdila Monastery

Bomdila Monastery is a prominent Buddhist monastery located in the town of Bomdila in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Also known as Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery, it was established in the year 1965 by the 12th reincarnate of Tsona Gontse Rinpoche. Built on a hilltop, the monastery offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape and the township below. It has a unique architectural design that reflects the influence of Tibetan Buddhism. The complex houses a main prayer hall adorned with elaborate paintings and thangkas that depict the teachings and life of Buddha, alongside various incarnations and deities in the Buddhist pantheon. It is also a centre for spiritual education for the monks who reside there. Bomdila Monastery is a significant place for worship and pilgrimage and also serves as a cultural hub for the local community, embodying their rich traditions and spiritual ethos.

Sela Pass

Sela Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India, that is 4,170 metres (13,700 ft) above sea level. It connects the Buddhist town of Tawang to Dirang, Guwahati, and Tezpur, and is the main route to the rest of India. The pass is known for its scenic beauty and is surrounded by snow. Sela Pass is open throughout the year, but the best months to visit are October, November, March, April, and May when there is less chance of snow. Temperatures range from 20–5 degrees Celsius, so you should wear warm clothing.

Bum La Pass is a mountain pass in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India, that's famous for being the route used by the Dalai Lama to enter India. The pass is also known for being the site of a fierce battle during the 1962 Sino-Indian War, when the Chinese army invaded India through the pass. Bum La Pass is located at an elevation of 15,200 feet (4,600 m) in the Himalayas and is covered in snow for most of the year. The pass offers views of the Tibetan plateau, and visitors can pass through hamlets and lakes on the way.
