  • 5 stops
  • Meals: Not included
  • Accommodation: Haukafell Camping - Tents are spacious (16m²) and include: Two 90cm-wide beds with down duvets, pillows, and linens.
Heinabergslón
  • 2h
Heinabergslón is a glacier lagoon in the southeast of Iceland, just a short drive from Höfn. Unlike the more famous Jökulsárlón, Heinabergslón offers a quieter, more secluded experience. Surrounded by rugged mountains and glacier-carved landscapes, the lagoon is fed by Heinabergsjökull, a glacier tongue extending from the massive Vatnajökull ice cap. Floating icebergs reflect the changing light and seasons.
Heinabergsjokull
  • 1h
The surrounding Heinaberg area is known for its scenic hiking trails, which offer incredible views of the glacier, lagoon, and vast, untouched wilderness. This region is rich in geological formations, shaped by the glacier's slow retreat over centuries. Photographers and nature enthusiasts will find plenty of opportunities to capture the raw beauty of Icelandic nature, whether focusing on the reflections in the lagoon, the intricate ice formations, or the expansive views from the surrounding hills.
Jokulsarlon
  • 1h
Jökulsárlón is one of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders, a vast glacier lagoon filled with floating icebergs that have calved from Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest ice cap. Located along the southeast coast, about halfway between Höfn and Skaftafell, the lagoon is constantly changing as icebergs drift, melt, and reshape, creating an ever-evolving landscape. The lagoon connects to the Atlantic Ocean, where icebergs wash ashore on Diamond Beach, a stretch of black sand where crystal-like ice formations create a stunning contrast. The area is a paradise for photographers, offering dramatic reflections, wildlife encounters with seals and seabirds, and breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers and mountains.
Diamond Beach Jokulsarlon
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket included
Diamond Beach, located near Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, is a striking black sand beach where icebergs wash ashore after drifting out to sea. The contrast between the dark volcanic sand and the glistening ice chunks shaped by the ocean creates a stunning visual scene. Constantly changing with the tides, this unique location offers incredible opportunities for photography and witnessing Iceland’s natural beauty up close.
Fjallsarlon Iceberg Lagoon
  • 1h
Fjallsárlón is a serene glacier lagoon in southeast Iceland, located just south of Jökulsárlón. Fed by Fjallsjökull, an outlet of Vatnajökull, the lagoon is surrounded by dramatic ice formations and rugged mountain peaks. Smaller and less crowded than its famous neighbour, Fjallsárlón offers a peaceful setting to observe floating icebergs and the striking glacier front up close, making it a perfect spot for photography and quiet reflection.
Day 2: Full day Glacier Experience (With Glacier Walk)
  • 1 stop
  • Meals: snacks
  • Accommodation: Haukafell Camping - Tents are spacious (16m²) and include: Two 90cm-wide beds with down duvets, pillows, and linens.

Vestrahorn
  • 3h
  • Admission ticket included
After an active day before on the glacier, today offers a more relaxed pace as we visit Vestrahorn, one of Iceland’s most photogenic mountains. With its dramatic peaks rising from the black sand and reflective tidal flats, this location provides endless opportunities for composition. We’ll take our time exploring different angles, capturing the changing light, and making the most of this iconic South East Iceland landmark.
Hofn
  • 2h
Located near Höfn, Suðurfjara and Melatangi have a rugged coastline featuring black sand beaches, tidal pools, and striking rock formations shaped by the mighty Atlantic Ocean. This area offers stunning photography opportunities with its dynamic interplay of waves, light, and textures. Adding to its intrigue, the site also contains the ruins of a minor, abandoned airstrip, a remnant of Höfn’s past that adds a historical element to the landscape. Away from the more frequented tourist spots, Suðurfjara provides a unique and peaceful setting to capture the untamed beauty of Iceland’s south coast.
