Activity itinerary

Watch the reef through four large underwater windows and stay dry. The Reef Explorer is Vanuatu's only semi-submersible, and the tour takes one hour. You sit in the viewing room, which holds 6 people at a time. We run along the reef beside Iririki Island, past the coral bommies and the drop-off, to Snorkellers Cove, then back through deeper water. On the way back you can sit on the top deck while we point out Port Vila's landmarks. What you may see: clownfish, parrotfish, angelfish, corals, sea cucumbers and starfish, and sometimes turtles, stingrays or eels. Regularly seen, never guaranteed. Good to know: You do not need to swim or snorkel. The boat is very stable, and seasickness has not been a problem. The route changes with the tide. High tide is better, and mornings usually have the clearest water. Children under 5 are free. Access is by a ramp to our pontoon, then four steep steps down into the cabin (you go down backwards). If you use a wheelchair or find walking difficult, please contact us before booking and we will tell you honestly whether we can manage. We are on the Port Vila Seafront, next to Nambawan Cafe, in the middle of city centre.
