Beautiful farmhouse
We enjoyed our stay at this quiet farm. Great location, we loved the views, animals and peaceful porch. The hosts have thought of everything. We just wish we had enough time to do the horse ride! We will stay again if we are ever in the area in the future!

A perfect getaway
We stayed at the cottage for a weekend girls trip and we immediately fell in love with this place. The views were stunning and the house was so clean, renovated, and well stocked. The house had tons of natural light and plenty of seating and space for all of us. Internet and cell reception was very spotty but we knew about that from the owner communication and we weren’t bothered by unplugging for a couple days. You can find little pockets of coverage if you walk around. Even though we didn’t bring the kids, I was impressed by how kid friendly this cottage is. From dishes to games to a closet of toys and stuffed animals and all the animals you can see on the farm, kids would have a great time here! We loved taking walks on the farm and seeing all the animals. Watching the cattle come over the hill at dusk and seeing the large herd of deer out in the field was a relaxing end to the day. The horses were beautiful and the highland cows were really fun to see. The donkey, alpacas and goats provided some extra entertainment too. We didn’t explore the area too much but there are caverns and lavender fields and lots of hiking and a few waterfalls all within 30 minutes of the farm. Even staying on the farm the whole weekend there were lots of memories made. It was so peaceful and relaxing and we truly can’t wait to be back!

Restful Stay
We absolutely love the peace and quiet on the farm watching deer in the fields and the mountains in the background. The dogs and cat made it feel like home, and its location to so many historical and fun places to visit made a perfect vacation.

Mother's Day Get Away
My mother and sisters stayed at Hidden Valley Farm for the Mother's Day weekend. We loved every moment of our stay. The Hosts were awesome! The cottage was beautiful and very accommodating for our stay! We used every space available in the cottage and outside. It was such a peaceful and restful place. We were close to many activities - the area is rich in history. Lastly, the animals on the farm were awesome and we enjoyed watching and visiting them all! We hope to stay here again in the future!

Perfect!
Our entire family loved this place so much. We were greeted by a sweet orange cat and he went on a long walk later towards the woods after we visited with all the friendly farm animals. We saw horses, goats, steers, alpacas and a large tortoise. It brought me back to my childhood growing up on our family farm in Wisconsin. The views are incredible at any place you look. We sat on the porch and watched the sunset and then went to the back and started a fire on the very nice patio with a grand fireplace. The kids collected sticks but there was a starter pile. When we woke up in the morning we were greeted again but by three super fun dogs (the owner asked if we were ok with them and of course yes my kids have been wondering where the dogs were the whole trip) they added so much entertainment. They came with us while we visited all the farm animals again and the kids played fetch. The house was perfect for us. A lot of room, clean, coffee and creamer were available. This is my dream home and was thrilled to visit. If you have kids or love animals or beautiful views this is your place! A+

Beautiful and Awesome
Everything was great. No complaints. This property is the home of Cyrus McCormicks dad. If you don’t know who Cyrus McCormick is, look him up. The farmers do. History buffs know him. Beautiful area easy to get to and looking up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. All the modern amenities in a late 1700’s house. Entertaining just watching the cow roundup every morning drinking coffee on the front porch. Duckie the dog is a delight. Everything was just easy. Highly recommend and I don’t usually do reviews.

Loved the farm
This was the best place for my grandson who is three. We all loved the farm animals and big open spaces, but he enjoyed the Avenger action men and other toys. The house stayed warm and was comfortable. Be aware that our phone internet was minimal but we enjoyed a night without devices. Wish we were coming back this way again.
