No response from host or Hotels.com

When we arrived we thought we had found a great spot. It is an apartment in a convenient location. The space was sparsely furnished but clean. The problem started when we tried to use the bathtub. It didn't work. We chose this spot because it was one of the few that had a tub. That evening I used the outlet next to the bed to plug in my phone. A couple minutes later sparks started shooting out of the wall around the outlet. I unplugged my phone and it stopped. The next morning I called the number on my welcome email and talked to someone (not the owner) who assured me the owner would get back to me. After waiting all day without a follow up I sent another message. No follow-up. We stayed 4 nights without any communication. It is now 3 days since we left and still no communication. The situation could have been dangerous and could ultimately cause a fire. We will not be using Hotels.com again because of the lack of customer service.

The property could be improved with good communication and issues being resolved immediately in which they weren’t. The communication was terrible. The WiFi they said that they redid it. However, the username for the WiFi never showed up. So even if they redid it we could not get it they said to click on a specific Spectrum…. There was a WiFi for different Spectrums but not for the one that they had specified. Since the WiFi didn’t work we couldn’t watch tv . I called and emailed several times about this issue as well as the bathtub plug. The bath tub could not hold water because there was no plug and the plug on the tub didn’t work and I paid for the bath tub to work as I always take baths.

We were very happy with this apartment all round. It was clean, well kept and excellently equipped. We had plenty of space for ourselves and our belongings. Unfortunately, the person living in the apartment above us was very night active, even building, sawing and drilling in the apartment until far after midnight. We got no support from the host to stop this disturbance. Nonetheless, we would book this apartment again and hope the person above is finished with his building work.
