"nice and quiet"
this was a lovely place to stay, - quiet (no trucks, trains or plains to make extra noise). The accommodation was lovely and spacious and to have breakfast supplied was wonderful as this place is a little way out of town.

"Great accommodation for families "
We always stay at self contained cabins for our family when ever we go away. They have everything you want, in the end we are only really there for the bed. It was a great price for a family of 4 & I will certainly be going back. This cabin would have to of been one of the best ones we have stayed in.

"Best Hotel in Devonport-Burnie Area"
This place is a real hotel with room service and cheap and acceptable rooms when compared to others in the area. The view over the river is pleasant and staff are helpful. Will definitely be staying there next time I am in the area.

    Pocket Guide: Sheffield

Tucked away in the foothills of Tasmania's Mount Roland, Sheffield has reinvented itself from a small town into a bustling tourist hub. Local artists have painted murals on the walls across town, so join and delight in their beautiful and colourful creations. Our Sheffield accommodation is charming and packed with the friendly hospitality you've come to know and love from Australia's rural towns. Come visit the 'Town of Murals' on your next holiday!

December 1986 saw the first mural unveiled in Sheffield and today there are over sixty for you to see as you stroll throughout the town. The city centre has many galleries and studios featuring the work of local artists, from paintings to photography, ceramics, pottery and woodworking there is something to tweak everyone's interest. If you are visiting in April, be sure to check out the Mural Fest art competition. If you miss the competition, the works from the top nine finalists are still displayed in Mural Park for the rest of the year.

For a beautiful view across the region, take the hike to Mount Roland - the panoramic photo opportunities are well worth the climb. If that's a bit too strenuous, visit some of the local wineries for a much more relaxed afternoon of tasting wine and dining on lovely cuisine. Sports lovers always love Lake Barrington, an international standard rowing venue and a great place to try your hand at waterskiing. For more chilled activities, trout fishing or a pleasant canoe paddle along the waters drops the pace back down to relaxation mode. Bring your family to enjoy the playground and parks, and for an easy stroll on a great rainforest walk.

Kimberley's Thermal Springs are a wonderful tourist spot with warm waters always sitting above 24 degrees, so you can enjoy a swim in the naturally heated pool anytime of the year. The last stop you absolutely have to make is Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot, just 15 minutes out of town. With eight mazes to test your logic, a miniature village, a pancake factory and a lavender and honey farm on site, the property is a great tourist spot for the kids.

Only 23km inland from Devonport, and 220km from Hobart, Sheffield is a laidback and tranquil holiday spot for anyone who loves art and culture. Book a great hotel in Sheffield's city centre and be right in the centre of the biggest art district. Get inspired and start planning this wonderful holiday!
