Mykonos Holiday Packages

There are so many darn Greek islands scattered about the Aegean Sea, it’s hard to pick out which one to visit. Crete and Oia are great, but they weren’t immortalised in a song by the Fleet Foxes. Which island did show up in a catchy tune? That would be Mykonos. We’re not even sure if the song is about the island, but whatever. Anyway, this island is a holiday paradise. Blue-domed white houses line the cliffs, the small towns have incredible food scenes, and there are beautiful people everywhere you look. It’s nearly impossible not to enjoy yourself. Book one of Wotif’s Mykonos holiday packages and become a Greek god in no time.

Hit the Beach

It’s an island, so of course there are beaches in every direction: north, south, east and west…it doesn’t matter which way you venture. Book Mykonos car hire through Wotif, zoom off and you’ll find a stretch of shoreline suitable for you. Check out a few of these below and choose your favourite:

  • Ornos – Located on the west coast, this beach is perfect for laying out, doing nothing and enjoying a cold ouzotini. There’s plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for everybody, so claim one and laugh at all your friends back home, working away in their tiny cubicles. Don’t forget to take a dip in the unbelievably warm, turquoise water.
  • Super Paradise – The only better name for a beach would be “The Greatest Beach in all the Universe”. But in all seriousness, this place really is a super paradise on the south coast. Beach bars and restaurants line the sand as far as the eye can see, and it’s loaded with people of all shapes and sizes who love to party.
  • Kalo Livadi – If you’re looking for a secluded beach to clear your mind, Kalo Livadi is the place for you. There’s kilometres of empty sand to think about life, love and what tavern you’re going to duck into when the sun goes down. There’s a few in the nearby town, so you won’t have to go far. Be sure to lather up with sunscreen—the rays here can turn you as pink as a piglet.

Explore, See, Do

You could spend your entire trip searching for the perfect stretch of sand, but there’s so much more to do during holidays to Mykonos. Don’t believe us? Check out these things below:

  • Mykonos Town – This is the most popular village on the island, and for good reason. Make your way to the Little Venice section of town and enjoy lunch at one of the small cafes along the waterfront. When the sun is about to set, take the five-minute walk up the stairs behind Little Venice and catch the sunset at the windmills.
  • Delos – You’ll have to hop in a boat for this one, because Delos is a small, uninhabited island off the coast. An amazingly preserved ancient Greek theatre is the main attraction on the island. The entire island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so you know it’s important.
  • Kikis Tavern – Situated above the beach of Agios Sostis, this place pairs excellent Greek cuisine with ocean views. They cook everything on charcoal grills because there’s no electricity, and signposts directing you to the restaurant are few and far between. Guess you’ll have to ask around to figure out where to go.

When you’re ready to escape to the Greek islands, browse Wotif’s great selection of Mykonos holidays and book one before your boss gets back from lunch. And then, when the boss returns, look him dead in the eye and tell him you also booked one of our insane deals on an Athens holiday. Send a postcard to be polite.
