I’m a frequent traveler to North Qld, I don’t normally write reviews, but I would like to share my recent experience at this resort. I’ve stayed here a few times now as I generally come up here for working holidays Trinity Beach itself is quite stunning and there’s everything you need here apart from a suitable supermarket. As for the Blue Lagoon Resort, it has two large swimming pools a usable gym and all rooms are self contained. So if you get a good weekly deal here you can settle down for a decent period of time on a budget. BUT BE WARNED! They allow smokers smoking on the balconies. So if a room is situated next to or below a smoker, you have tolerate it or complain to management which I did to no prevail. I had to kindly ask the people next to me to please stop smoking, as I couldn’t sit outside or leave my door open without the smell of cigarettes smoke wafting over into my room. I could even smell the stench as I walked into my room, and had to leave a towel at the bottom of the door to stop the odor from stinking up the place. It’s not good enough! Most quality Motels or Resorts don’t allow any type of smoking in rooms or on balconies. it’s clearly has safety ramifications and should banned all together. Just have a designated smoking area for goodness sake!!

We didn't realise that this was a self catering appartment when we booked, luckily there were some basic items like toilet paper and soap to start us off but we then had to buy our own. It is not services daily either so you need to empty your own bin every day and clean the appartment, which is all fine, just not like a normal hotel room. The amenities are great with a walk around the lagoon, 2 swimming pools, a gym and reception office and an easy walk to the beach and shops. Our block had gated parking and it seemed like a very nice area to stay in. Just a couple of things to mention, we were on the 2nd floor and there was no lift/elevator, so it meant pulling out suitcases up 4 flights of stairs. If that is a problem for you then you need to request a ground floor room. The other thing is the noise. The floors are tiled so there was no noise reduction. We could hear all the conversations and TV from the surrounding rooms. I could even tell you what show they were watching.

Apartment was safe, clean and self contained. Location was fantastic, walking distance to the beach, bars & restaurants. Staff were friendly & helpful. Only negative was we couldn’t get the tv to work, poor internet connection & no free to air accessibility. Would definitely stay there again.

My check in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. In the building I was staying in there was a lift for easy access to my studio suite. The room was clean and bright. The view from the balcony was awesome and the pool was wonderful. The bedding was good, and the complex was as clean as a whistle. A great place to stay and relax.

The property is clean and well appointed, there is an excellent pool and BBQ area, it has a small gym area and ample parking. The beach and dining options are a short walk away. The public transport system allows you to go into the city if you don't want to drive the 20 minutes in. The main highway is only 5 minutes away so you can drive up to Port Douglas or Mossman areas or you can access the Scenic Cable car/train ride to Kurranda ,Wake Park. Military Museum or Bungee jump if you want some fun, all within 10 minutes' drive from the resort. Definitely worth the visit.
