"Excellent in-town location"
Excellent views - very friendly staff. Good daily maintenance; Wifi good in many rooms, sometimes fades depending on where you are, but otherwise fine.

We all had a fabulous time at Le Lagon Resort and Spa. The resort was beautiful and the staff were amazing. Our kids enjoyed the endless sporting activities including the free water sports. The buffet breakfast was also very popular :)

"A beautiful space with amazing staff."
We recently stayed for 10 days and found the resort wonderful for a family holiday. Calypso's stunning sandy beach was perfect for swimming, the snorkeling was great for beginners and the island a safe haven for the children to explore on their own. There are several beaches on the island, each with different features - crabby beach to watch the red crabs, golden beach with beautiful golden sand and great snorkeling, shelly beach to explore lagoon life at low tide and Calypso's beach for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. There are daily activities for children including movie/pizza night on the beach and a Melanesian feast followed by a performance from the most amazing Fire Dancers. In spite of the recent hurricane the grounds were in immaculate condition and I would highly recommend Erakor Island resort.

great place - very comfortable clean modern rooms with a nice view, and it even had a desk for me to work. Beautiful location by the lagoon, friendly and helpful staff. The perfect place to unwind, yet close enough to the city.

    Pocket Guide: Port Vila

The South Pacific is known for island paradises rich with natural beauty and Vanuatu's capital, Port Vila, can be used as a base to find your own tropical wonders. Port Vila is located on the island of Efate and is a former British and French colony but it still remains true to its Polynesian roots. Our Port Vila accommodation is perfect if you wish to spend a few days in the capital exploring the town and its surroundings which are home to some fantastic sights.

One of the most popular places to visit near the town is the Mele Cascades waterfalls. For a small admission price visitors are free to swim in the beautiful water at the bottom of the falls and you can even walk all the way to the top for greater view of the area. For the brave there is even the option to abseil 50 metres down from the top of the waterfall to the bottom but just make sure you have a stomach for heights. To enrich that tropical island experience you have been craving after, a trip to Hideaway Island is highly recommended. Simply turn up with your swimming gear and a snorkel and enjoy the day roaming from beach to beach on the island admiring the coral and the shoals of brightly coloured fish. Any Port Vila hotel staff will know how to get to the tiny island which is reasonably close to the capital.

Embarking on an off-road adventure is another popular attraction while staying in one of our Port Vila hotels. This usually involves renting a four wheel drive vehicle within the town and then driving to some smaller local villages and stopping by at any of the beaches on the way. This offers an opportunity to see more of Efate and to catch a glimpse of the Polynesian way of life. Although for a greater understanding of traditional life it is worth heading to the National Cultural Centre which helps to illuminate the history of the island.
