Check in was horrible. Even at 3pm check in time we were told no room was available. After a lot of back and forth we were stuck in a room that was not what we booked, the room was not cleaned well and old. Almost like it was a room that no one would be booked in. We requested a late check out(literally only 1 hour) and that request was denied. So overall for the price I was extremely disappointed with the accommodations.

One of the worst resorts in Cancun the room had a cockroach infestation the room was really nasty I paid a extra $700 for diamond club through the booking just for me not to have a butler and not get anything extra the staff was rude theirs no one you can get into contact with for any questions you may have the resort dosnt pick up their phone the staff is extremely rude I couldn’t make any reservations at restaurants because I would have to do it through a butler (that was never appointed to me)

Stay away from this hotel. TERRIBLE. To add context, this was my fifth visit but the first visit since it has been taken over and WOW what an absolute disgrace it is now. My partner was given a faulty hairdryer, wires exposed, got electrocuted, the strike powerful enough to blow the whole electrics and when we went to see management they asked 'did you have your shoes on' promised the doctor would contact us - they did not. That could have been my child. The room was so disgusting, I wish I could upload pictures. The grime on our rooftop tool - it clearly had not been cleaned in months. The final straw which led us to leave the hotel 3 days early was a scorpion in the room. The cleaners were terrified so it was clearly dangerous. They had to exterminate the room. I am convinced it was due to how dirty the room was, I've seen nothing like it. The staff management Jaqueline and David - absolutely shocking customer service - could not care less about their guests. Still as I sit in the airport - not one person has checked over my partner to see if he is ok. Royalton. Absolute disgrace. I will been seeking further action and a full refund from Expedia whom make it impossible to lodge a complaint or speak to anyone.

We booked our stay last minute coming from Tulum so our options were limited. We selected Royalton Riveria Cancun and upon entering it looked promising in the lobby but the rooms were incredibly dated and worn down. We're talking mildew smell, worn down furniture, peeling paint, faulty plumbing bad. The first room we got with a standard jungle view and balcony was depressing so my husband paid to upgrade our room to a room with a private swim up area which greatly increased our experience. You can tell this use to be a really nice hotel in its prime, but they need a major face lift and updating. The staff was great (special shoutout to Juan at Scores sports bar rooftop and Alexis at Hunter Steakhouse--both really improved our stay with their exceptional service). The food was pretty meh at all the restaurants. There were some pros: the beach was nice and clean. The entertainment offered during the day and at night was pretty good. Overall, this resort served its purpose for the 2nd half of our trip, but we wouldn't stay here again unless it got a major upgrade invested.

This was one of thee worst resorts I've taken my family. No where near five star facility. The facility is poorly kept, staff is rude and dismissive, all management should be fired due to lack of leadership. During check-in, you are told reservations aren't needed but its the biggest LIE!!! This facility can't understand the meaning of quality customer service. This should immediately be removed in its entirety as a vacation option. I feel my vacation with my family was mainly spent at the front desk resolving problems over relaxing. NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME HERE!!
