"Nice Centrally located Motel in Broken Hill"
We ended up staying 5 nights waiting for the roads to open up North after the rain. A very comfortable room on the ground floor. The Southern Cross Hotel was right next door which was very convenient for food and drinks.

This was a very nice hotel to settle in whilst visiting Broken Hill. Apart from a leaking air conditioner on the first night (quickly fixed) the facilities, room, etc was quite comfortable.

"Great location and friendly staff."
Even though we had a road side unit, our room was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom is dated, however the shower made up for it. All in all a very comfortable stay. Thanks

"Good older accommodation!"
We have stayed at the Sturt Motel many times in the last 15 years. It is an older venue favoured by mining contractors visiting Broken Hill. It is clean and adequate and the staff are excellent, even if the administration is now over the road at the caravan park. We were happy to have the discount provided through Wotif, but would really have liked to book a twin room rather than a double. There seemed to be no provision for this on the booking screen?? However the motel changed the room for us on our arrival with classical bush hospitality.

Broken Hill is home to many gorgeous and grand heritage buildings, including the Post Office, the former St Josephs Convent and the Trades Hall, which are also listed on the State Heritage Register. Wandering through town like this is the best way to really absorb the character of Broken Hill, and meet a few locals too! To top it off in true outback style, pull up a stool in one of the heritage pubs for a cold one.

To truly understand the rural landscape, you just need a take a short drive out of town to feel the remote reality of this unique destination. Make sure you also check out the Mundi Mundi Plains lookout, where from the top of the hill, the flat lands go on and never seem to end. Come at dusk and make it a romantic picnic – the colours in the sky will amaze you! Or, for a different kind of view, take a scenic flight, an outback cycling tour, or a 4WD safari adventure. Broken Hill is the best place to experience the Aussie outback because it’s literally in the centre of the Australian desert.
