After reading the reviews, I had lofty expectations for this hotel. After all, people noted its proximity to many sites, restaurants, and the metro. And while those are all true, the hotel itself was just meh. Front desk staff was courteous and welcoming, however, despite telling them that I had paid through Orbitz, they still charged me. Only after I pulled up the receipt did they do some more “digging” and found that I had already paid. Also, breakfast was lackluster. Eggs were powdered (from a mix rather than made fresh) and bacon was wilted and flavorless. Coffee machine spat out lukewarm lattes and the orange juice dispenser disappeared about 10 minutes after I arrived (just after they opened.) The restaurant was not open for lunch or dinner.
Rooms were very small (and dark) for a suite style hotel. The sofa bed folded nearly into the small tv, leaving little room to negotiate around it to the balcony or bedroom. The shower was a step-over tub with folding glass that still allowed ample amounts of water to leak all over the floor.
The “gift shop” consisted of a space near the front desk with a few sodas and packages of candy.
