LIKES : GOOD staff. xtra toiletries/coffee-tea supplies. quiet. elevators work well. individual heat/cool control per room. seperate coffee vs tea facilities in room. toaster and micro wave work well in the room. hot water ALWAYS available! 10 minute walk to downtown. laundry for guests exists...NEED change(NOT always available within the hotel). key entrance and control code needed for exercise, steam and sauna facilities(feeling safe). safe available in room. can take food items (on plates) from restaurant to own room. BAD : small tea/coffee cups in restaurant. somewhat cold in restaurant. front door of explorer hotel next door...better controls cold from outside. despite numerous 8pm-2am northern lights tours...no hot food option upon return to hotel. No clock in lobby...ie. I KNOW the time my tour is expected to come pick me up...but WHAT time is it NOW! sauna no work. controls on steam room are difficult to decipher. restaurant closed 2pm-5pm and closes 9pm. believe tour operators work SEPERATE from the hotel. I did NOT try to book a tour via the front desk...so dont know.

Rooms are large and clean. It is also great that they have microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. Ironing board and iron need to be replaced as they are both broken.
