The room I booked was supposed to have a couch and it did not. The balcony door was open when I came in the room. Upon closing it the entire door glass shook and separated nearly smashing my finger. The amount of dust in the room, and I don’t even know what was on the mirror was ridiculous. The bedding had dog hair on it and stained linen. Worst of all there was a cockroach in the bathtub. As far as the staff goes, they were very pleasant.

While I haven't been to Fort Magruder in awhile, the rooms are tired, furniture chipped/chair with stains. There we we facial tissues and 1/4 roll of toilet paper. It was sad to see such a fine hotel deteriorate so much.

Nice winter stay at Fort Magruder.
We enjoyed our stay at the Fort Magruder. The details about the fort were very interesting. The room was clean and comfortable. All staff members were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The dining area was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The only negative thing that I can say is that we arrived after dark and there was no lighted sign, so we had some difficulty in finding the hotel. Other than that, everything was great. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.
