After reading the reviews and being too late to cancel I came prepared with bedding and coffee mugs. However the bedding at the property was clean, crisp and white.
Dont get me wrong it could definitely do with a make over, however Ive stayed in worst condition places than this.
I was prepared for the worst but for $130 a night (stayed 2 nights) it was ok and met my needs, which was a place to rest my head and shower.
I had to collect my key from the Du Pont just up the road. There was no sign at Settlers indicating this, I rung the property to ask. I have stayed at Du Pont about 15yrs ago so was fortunate enough to know the area.
Also Settlers is still being used for emergency housing but I had no trouble from the tenants. Very quiet place to stay.
Overall if your looking for paradise on the amount you pay to stay here, not going to happen.I felt I received what I paid for. We are a family of 3 so roughly $40 a night each, which is not bad for the location. Also the TV didnt work, but we werent there to watch tv so it didnt bother us.
