The property and garden surrounds are gorgeous! We absolutely loved walking in the gardens, with a pond, giant outdoor chess game, quaint seating everywhere, cobble stoned paths, and the outdoor function area is fabulous, perfect for a wedding. The rooms were nice though a little dated but still they were very clean and comfortable. The only downside for us was the lack of professionalism when checking in. I had to buzz for reception help, which is fine, but the young lady on call at the time wasnt friendly and looked like she didn't really want to serve me. My partner went back later to ask for an extra door card as we had two rooms and he said he was greeted in the same way. Having worked in hospitality and customer service for many years, its understandable to have off days where you dont really want to engage with others, especially customers being very demanding, but it would have been nice to have been greeted in a friendly manner after travelling so far to get to the venue and having paid a fair bit of $ to stay. Would I stay here again, yes absolutely, as one little encounter wouldnt stop us, and the other staff were lovely, especially the staff in the Olive Tree Cafe. Breakfast was AWESOME by the way, which was part of the stay. Overall a great place to get away.
