It was supposed to be a luxury resort. The food was a 2/10 and service was 3/10. The property was well maintained and clean but certainly not a luxury experience by any means.

This resort was amazing from the bottomless cocktails to the beautiful beach and the great employees. I would advise however most of the restaurants must be reserved. I would advise to book these spots from early because the restaurants open a bit later with limited availability.

Lopesan is a newer resort with beautiful grounds and a gorgeous pool. However, we were disappointed by key features, including the service, beach, and amenities. The service at Lopesan was lacking on many levels. Generally unfriendly or indifferent bartenders, waiters, and cleaning people are found at all restaurants, bars, with some exceptions from a friendly few servers. The A La Carte restaurants were hit or miss. The Mexican restaurant El Charro is very good, while the Asian and Italian restaurants aren’t great. Food came out wrong multiple times. The buffets were very good with a fresh grill and plenty of options, though the staff is generally inattentive and plates were left on our table through the whole meal. The pools are beautiful and large. Get spots early because people will drop towels and claim chairs by 8am. The beach itself is nice, but the ocean leaves a lot to be desired. There is a very narrow swimming area, and the water gets deep quick, so you can’t go for a leisurely swim because everybody is crammed on a small slice of water. Also, there is a marina outside the swimming area, so your view of the sea is cluttered with boats right off the shore and you’ll smell gasoline frequently. There are lots of amenities, like a gym, water park, kids club, theater and shops, but they’re far from the beach so we didn’t go often. All in all, it’s a good place to bring a family, you’ll have fun, and it’s not too expensive. Just don’t expect “perfect”

Fraud!!! The AI bots are writing the reviews! The grounds, room and pools are gorgeous! The food was less than average compared to several all-inclusive resorts we have stayed at. The most concerning issue was the staff and management. After traveling to numerous resorts throughout the Caribbean there was No hospitality, but rather hostile behavior from the front desk to the service desk. We upgraded to Ocean view at a significant cost and given garden view. Our children (3 teenagers) had their own room and given a king size bed when we requested two double beds at the front desk. We asked for a roll away bed since the resort claimed to be full our first night. One of our teens slept on the couch and room service never brought extra bedding as requested, but rather they provided a crib!Luis the manager was notified and promised to move us the second day of our stay which never happened. Housekeeping was sporadic. The water pressure in the shower was poor and hard to get the shampoo out of my hair. Room service was nonexistent unless you have 3 hours to wait for it. Dinner reservations had to be done from an app on our phones that was not working. Upon checking out I asked to be refunded for the room snafu the difference ($1,750 Garden view vs Ocean view upgrade) and Luis said no! We then disputed the charges with our credit card provider and told it was out of their hands due to Expedia's policies. Do not recommend staying at this resort with such poor customer service.
