Love the privacy from the street, and the fact no traffic goes past the Sino wing at Old Phuket Resort. Rooms are made up daily, beautiful breakfasts, close to shops and beach, and 2 great pools within the property. Staff are delightful

clean hotel a minutes from dozens of restaurants

Only stayed for half a day as we had a late flight out and our hotel was fully booked, but in saying that, I would stay here longer next time. Immaculate room, great pool, and a minute walk to dozens of restaurants

Nice hotel close to Karon Beach

Pros: The location was great, the pool was really nice and the breakfast was good. Liked the garden shower in our room.
Cons: The bed was the hardest I've ever slept on! Our room was in the older area though.
Location: Short walk out the back gate to the beach and loads of shops, a market, restaurants and massage places.
We stayed at The Old Phuket for 2 nights after a week at The Nai Harm. We wanted a couple of days in a busier area to finish off our stay. The hotel is very handy to Karon Beach and to a lot of good restaurants and other shops. We ate at a couple of great places just outside the hotel back gate, cocktails were 99 Baht - bonus! The pool is great with plenty of lounges and a bar that made great cocktails. There were rooms that opened up onto their own section of the pool and if I was to go again, I'd get one of those. I got a good rate on a room but it was a cheaper one in the older part of the hotel. The bed was excruciatingly hard - very uncomfortable. We didn't complain though as we were only there for 2 nights. Parts of the hotel are a bit tired but it was good value for money. The breakfast was very nice too.

Great Hotel, friendly staff close to the beach

We had not stayed at Karon Beach before and were looking for a reasonably priced hotel. I must say we were pleasantly surprised with the Old Phuket. We had a Deluxe Pool Access room which was fantastic, nice and big and you could just walk our balcony into the pool. The staff were all beautiful people who couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was included which was nice, a mixture of European and Thai food. All in all we will definitely be back again.

Great Location and facilities.

Pros: The free upgrade to the new section. Loved the new modern design bathroom. The old and relaxing restaurant and the lovely selection for breakfast.
Cons: Vast Majority of staff were very friendly, just some a little not so.
Location: Located directly opposite the beach with a quick walk directly into town.
Beautiful old buildings mixed with new Modern design sections.

Charming, character hotel in a fantastic location.

Right from the beginning we were welcomed with friendly Thai hospitality. The staff were always willing to help. Security was refreshingly honest without being overbearing. They made us feel safe and free to enjoy ourselves without worrying about our safety or the security of our belongings. They were also good for a laugh as we limbo'd under the entry gate on our way in and out of the hotel on another great evening. We loved the traditional Thai colonial charm and character of the place and especially enjoyed the outdoor shower in our Deluxe Villa room. It's not a 5 star modern hotel with all the bells and whistles. But if you want a comfortable, clean, stylish place to stay with fantastic access to the beach and Karon town, then you can't go past The Old Phuket. We'll be back.

Friends anniversary get together

Pros: Rooms are very clean
Cons: Beds are extremely hard Free WiFi is almost impossible to access
Location: Good access to restaurants and local shopping and beach activities
Good hotel for the money Staff were friendly and very helpful Pool areas very good but water like a warm bath

close to the beach very little amenities though

Pros: close to nice local restaurants and not the hussle and bussle of patong
Cons: be a little more regular with room cleans change beds very hard have a better wifi and shuttle free service
Location: good beach good local food shopping 2 klm away
outside the hotel was some good restaurants and shopping 2 klm away beds where very hard staff where friendly and it was very clean a reasonable hotel for the price

Old area a bit tired but new area is good

Pros: The new part of the hotel and specifically the ground floor rooms with walk in access to the pool
Cons: It's ok for what it is, just ensure you book the right room, we made an error on that one
Location: It's within a 5min walk to the beach, has loads of massage places to choose from nearby, close to the temple market (10min walk)
We stayed in the old part of the hotel in the terraces. The room was old but somewhat traditional.We had a hand held shower over a large bath indoors and an outdoor shower which was fairly well screened off from rooms above. There were 2 chairs on the front small veranda which looked at the walk through area of the hotel which led to the beach, found this a bit disappointing cos we thought we had booked a pool view area, this was our error not that of the hotel. We purchased the daily buffet which was ok and had a reasonable variety of foods. Our friends stayed in the new part of the hotel and they had a ground floor room with a veranda which allowed direct access into the pool. This room was nice and would recommmend that these are the pick of the room to book as the overlook the pool, was pretty and it's great to have your own access into the pool
