Overall, this was a nice hotel in a fabulous location, but you need to to know two things in advance so as not to get frustrated and unnecessarily overcharged. If you’re given vouchers for free drinks at the hotel bar, bear in mind that it is NOT open on Sunday evenings. We were not told this upon check in on Friday and were very disappointed when we attempted to visit the lounge the night before check out. Second thing you need to know is DON’T touch the mini bar! Even if they instruct you to remove items and use it for storage of your leftovers food — DON’T do it! Even if they tell you (as a concession) you can consume “the small botttles,” there were 4 nips), to replace the complementary drinks you couldn’t enjoy — DON’T do it! The mini bar is censored and everything that is moved or removed from it generates a room charge. It was a time consuming process with the front desk staff at check out to remove over $230 in charges from the tab, and this still left us with a $63 mini bar charge on the invoice that was emailed to me later. Despite several pleasant phone conversations with middle management (who wanted to make things right), the general manager refused to rectify the mini-bar charges. NO FREE drinks, just frustration clouded our experience unfortunately.
So my advise is, please do stay at this hotel, it is a great location and offers a decent breakfast that is included, just steer clear of the mini bar and plan accordingly if you have free drink vouchers.
