It’s an old building. No sound proof. The elevators are sounds like similar to subway. Stay away from the elevator. I was hearing noises from next room. The week when I stayed in the hotel was having a fashion week and they hosted events. We had to wait about 10min for the elevator. It has a nice riverside view, walkable to NYU and a market and pharmacy near by, streets are clean.

Dysfunctional Shower & Hotel Credit not Applied
Upon arrival we were greeted at front desk with a staff person who seemed very rushed, and her attention kept returning to the guest she had already said goodbye to when she waived us forward. She checked us in very distractedly, handed us keys and off we went. We discovered the next day that the shower was dysfunctional. It had two temperatures, scalding hot and freezing. The hot was so hot it burned our skin. It was impossible to set the temperature to anything in between. And at checkout we found out that we had been given an $87 hotel credit which we were not aware of, and was not even mentioned at check-in. When asked if it could be applied to our balance the front desk said no. So the credit remained unused. I don't know if this was a hotels.com credit or directly from the hotel, but it was not on my hotels.com reservation, and the hotel never mentioned it until after we had checked out. The hotel doorman was excellent, he gets 5 stars. The rest of the experience was very disappointing. We will not be returning.
