The description online was misleading. It appeared we had access to all 3 Riu properties that were together, but was told that was not case upon arrival w/o apologies. Another guest stated they had the same impression, and had a similar response as we did.
Check in was not a pleasant nor accommodating process. They discouraged assistance with taking our bags to our room. Many of the staff were not friendly nor accommodating. There were a few who were good, which helped make up for the ones who were not. Entertainment staff were fun and inviting. Entertainment during the day & night was good!
Riu app was not easy to connect with nor use (had to use for reservations to restaurants). The 1st night there, the app said all reservations for restaurants were full for the time we were staying, this was very disappointing. The next day someone tried again and was able to book some reservations. You could only book two reservations at a time. We had a family of 6, so there were a couple of nights we were not able to eat together at the restaurants. The last restaurant we went to we were treated very rudely by a hostess saying we were supposed to put a note in the comment section on the app if we wanted to sit together. We were the 2nd group of people entering and no one was behind us. They did allow us to sit together, but she definitely made it clear she was not happy with us.
We have been to several all inclusive resorts and haven’t had this experience before.
