There’s a reason that LeBron James took his professional basketball talents from Cleveland to Miami…and it has nothing to do with those cold winters up north. OK, maybe it has a little to do with it. Miami is a 24-hour tropical beach party thanks to the sand, sunshine and shoreline, for starters. They also have amazing food, incredible weather and tons of tourist attractions. But really, it’s all about the beach. And the party. And the beach…we can’t stress that enough.
And just like King James, you can live it up like an international baller when you stay at Miami boutique hotels. Even if you don’t drive a fancy car or have a big entourage trailing after you, they still let you sleep in the same rooms and use the same amenities as the rest of the guests.
Some Miami boutique accommodation tends to be on the smaller, cosy side. That’s all right, though, because you won’t have to pack much. Ladies, your bathers can fit in your pocket. And gents, you can probably get away with wearing a tank top and thongs every day. Either way, if you’re bringing more than a backpack, you’re probably bringing too much.
There’s a lot more to do in Miami besides play dominoes with retirees—not that there’s anything wrong with that. But it’s the beach, for crying out loud! Get some sun, take a swim in the ocean, get some more sun, and do it all again tomorrow. You could also rent a convertible and go for a drive along the coast, check out the incredible Art Deco architecture around town, and hit the clubs come sundown.
One of the great things about boutique hotels in Miami is that many of them are close to the beach. You can walk from your room to any of the amazing eateries and dynamic nightclubs along Ocean Drive. Or you could head over to Little Havana for the best Cuban sandwich this side of, well, Havana. One thing we do not recommend: Whatever you do, do not go to dinner around 4:30. The last thing you want to do is get between a retiree and an early-bird special at the buffet.
There are a few things that you need to confirm before booking your hotel. Does it look cool? Is it painted in pastels, preferably pink or a soft lime green? Is it close to the beach? If you can check off those three items, you’re on the right track. If you need some specific suggestions, check out these digs:
Book your boutique Miami hotel through Wotif right now. Between our great deals and the early-bird specials at the buffet, you can save a lot of money that can be better spent at the nightclubs in South Beach.
