300 meters of the coast of Lake Buenos Aires are just for you and your guests. Access is 1000 meters of a dirt/improved road off paved and well traveled provincial Route 43, between Perito Moreno and Los Antiguos. Enjoy views of the Andes, fishing, grilling, or simply exploring the property. Koraiken has 3 distinct areas: grass and natural springs at the southern end, the arid almost lunar midsection with beautiful rocks and signs of prior indigenous peoples' presence, and the ever-changing lakeshore. A variety of native plants and animals share our home. All photos shown were taken on our property.
We have a 'cross' and 'disc' in addition to the traditional grill. Use with care our spotting scopes to view animals during the day or comets at night. We have walkie talkies to communicate throughout the property and life vests if you dare to get in the glaciar-fed lake. Pets are allowed, please pick up and bury their waste and prevent them from bothering local wildlife. While smoking is allowed outside, wind and dry conditions can make it a fire hazard, and please dispose of cigarette butts in the trash.
One bedroom has 4 twin beds, two of them are pull-out captain's beds. The other bedroom has a queen size bed. There are beautiful views from the main room/ living room which has a futon. There is a small gas powered refrigerator. Power is by a generator at night if needed, some solar lights are available. There is hot water tank for hot showers. Water should be conserved as the main water tank supplying the house is filled by a pump from the lake; for typical use this lasts 3 days before needing to be refilled (your hosts will take care of this as needed). There is a small wood burning stove in the living room, although this can be hard to light without smoke if there are very windy and warmer conditions outside. It's usually not needed in the summer, but for very cold nights we have a portable gas powered heater.
