The Historic Cow Palace is even better than when it was new years ago. The room was updated and very comfortable, clean and quiet. We had dinner at the Tavern 1301!! It was amazing. I will definitely be back to the Cow Palace and the Tavern!!

Great spot great room for price only complaint I have is staff guy asked coworker coukd you remind me what room your in when we got breakfast like we were some homeless people or something next time ask old couple down there what room they staying in also. And charged card i reserved room on before checkin so couldn't figure out how to charge company card. All in all great cool spot by far coolest hotel in lamar keep rates competitive and will stay ever time we have job to do there.

Convenient location, very good food in the restaurant/bar, nice staff. Rooms have been updated and are nice for as old as the place is. I stayed here 43 yrs ago on business, still doing it's thing nicely.

First the pros: the bed was fairly comfortable. Check in/out was easy. Friendly front desk staff. The room seemed clean. Parking was easy I got there early enough to park backed into my door making getting luggage in easy. They provide breakfast (I didn't go to that so unsure of quality) Cons; the shower was Luke warm at best. It was turned as hot as possible and hardly warmed up so not ideal after a night in a different bed. Breakfast isn't served until 7am. Probably ok for most travelers unless you need to leave early. The walls were very thin. There was visible space under the door. Very loud compared to some other hotels in the area. You could hear everything in the parking lot, room next door and the honking train that goes by fairly often (all night) not sure I'd stay again unless there weren't other choices in the area

A good place to stay.
Very unique place to stay. Very clean and quiet. It's not user friendly because there's only one towel rack in the bathroom. A hook on the back of the door would allow another towel or bath robe. Also, no rack for the hand towel. There are plenty of places to put one. The vanity is so short my makeup items kept falling off. No tissues. However, the bed was very comfortable, good heater/ac, great television, good breakfast. Overall I would stay there again.

They are just finishing up a remodel but it doesnt really interfere with anything. Room was clean, staff was nice, the restaurant was pretty good. The breakfast was not that great- limited and bland. Good prices.
