Not allowed to stay there, had to eat reservation
Was not allowed to checkin bc I had a dog. At the front desk, and though the Hotels.com chat, I changed the reservation from that day to a future date so that I could at least reuse the reservation (obviously without my dog). The hotel manager at the time (Feb 20th ~3pm) agreed to allow the change (which was nice bc she didn't have to). Hotels.com called her to confirm and then they were suppose to send an email to her. But that email was never sent (apparently) and so the hotel room could not be released even though the hotel manager new I was going back to SF and was not checking in. So, since the room was not released it was marked as a no show. A week later I realized I didn't not have a Mar 18th res either and Hotels.com and the hotel itself could not agree on a way to fix the problem. So it was a total loss for me.

Hot tub closure disappointing, but overall good.
Great location, cute spot, bathroom finishes show a little wear and tear but felt clean and fine overall. Super disappointed that the hot tub is closed for repairs and apparently has been offline for months. After skiing it would have made a huge difference. We would stay again but we’d make sure the hot tub is back in operation before booking!

I booked through Expedia. Expedia requested over 72 hours before my check in date for The Truckee Donner Lodge to give me a refund because I wasn’t able to travel due to treacherous weather conditions. They denied it and I had to pay despite being unable to go.
