Kulai is a charming little city just outside of Johor Bahru. Its strong Chinese heritage draws in many tourists and has made Kulai famous for its locally made handicrafts, beautiful nature, delicious food and awesome temples. Check out our range of Kulai hotels and start planning your next holiday today!
Your first stop has to be Kulai's most famous temple, The Hua Guo Shan. A complex housing two separate Chinese Temples, here you can really see the difference between the Buddhist and Taoist designs and style. The surrounding gardens are well cared for and make for a lovely afternoon spent in the shade of some glorious trees. Don't leave without a sip of the water coming from a spring in the temple. It's believed to have a very potent energy that will give you luck in the lottery! If you'd like to visit other religious sites, the 'Seven Sisters' and the 'Thousand Fairies' are two beautiful Taoist temples covered in spectacular decorations that are well worth a look.
Forget hiking! Take a trail ride on horseback so you can sit back and relax as you trot through the beautiful local environment. Hutan Banday Putra Kulai is a wonderful park to stop by for lunch. With big grassy areas you'll find all the facilities you need to enjoy a picnic. If you do love hiking, Gunung Pulai is where you need to be. There's a five kilometre track winding to the peak, and it rewards every visitor with a fantastic view of the countryside. The Gunung Pulai National Park also has fresh waterfalls for a quick swim, and almost an over-abundance of unspoilt nature. It's a must for serious nature-lovers.
Looking for a round of golf? The Legends Golf and Country Resort has 18 holes designed by American golfing champion Jack Nicklaus, and is wonderful for an early morning game. Shoppers will love the stores in Kulaijaya, which is home to Southeast Asia's only Johor Premium Outlet. It offers huge discounts on branded goods, and is bringing in more and more tourists looking for a great deal! For a local treat the markets in town have a delicious range of street food, as well as unique souvenirs to take back home.
