I made my decision to rent here based on VRBO site reviews and pictures, as well as a video of the neighborhood. When I arrived to the property to check in it was not at all what I had gleened from those pieces of data. The street and general area included blight, homeless persons, razor wire, broken glass in the streets and nightclubs backing up to the subject property. I felt very unsafe about coming home to the property after dark, and asked for a refund based on the street not looking anything like the video posted. I was told by the owner, Pierre, who was extremely nice BTW, that it was not his fault that the city's video was old and out of date, and for that reason, not his fault that the online description was not as it turned out. If you are female or elderly I would suggest you look at a map of high crime areas in Houston before you book unless that does not bother you. I did not appreciate the way VRBO handled this after the fact, which was to ignore my issues. This was a very expensive lesson for me to be more detailed in my research before booking again with VRBO. I decided to leave and book 2 expensive hotel rooms for my group which nobody reimbursed. Let me stress, this property is close to NRG, the zoo and the medical center area as stated, the inside was as described and pictured, and he does have cameras in the driveway.
