Lovely historic hotel. Staff are really great. Beautiful surroundings. Perfect location. The historic building does not have balconies and many rooms face the courtyard/ entrance and does not feel that special. Could be any hotel. We asked for an upgrade ($707, incl fees and taxes for 4 nights, added to the original price) and was moved to the Mailani tower, which was incredible. Perfect and spacious balcony with table, chairs and a couch. And incredible views. Daily yoga class was really good and aqua Zumba a new and really fun experience. Breakfast was pretty basic, but finez It was busy, so we had to wait 15-20 min every day to be seated. We had a nice and enjoyable vacation but I do think I’d pick a cheaper hotel next time.

The oasis in the crazy Waikiki
Honestly everything about Royal Hawaiian is 10/10 except gym (I just go for hikes and runs in Hawaii so I would normally care but not here) and the resort fee is very high and daily, but this is one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed in. I find Waikiki super annoyingly busy but the rh is a calm quiet oasis.
