Hotel Description

Convenient to all the areas we wanted to visit and having a condo was a better option than a hotel with just a room. Facilities are a little tired and not spotless in cupboards and under furniture. Carpet was damaged.

Wifi dreadful and when charges and amenity fee of $25 day to cover this, and very little w Else, we found this unfair and disappointing. Room spacious however and balcony sea view wonderful

Unprofessional service

Pros: The view from the balcony
Cons: Staff training
Location: Location was good - a block from the beach
House keeping staff did not clean the room. Front desk staff were not helpful. Would strongly advise friends & family not stay there. The $20 fee for newspaper, playstation & internet access was not advised of on Expedia. This was an unexpected cost that I was unwilling to pay. I did not read the newspaper or play the playstation on any given day of my stay. This cost should be optional. I have never stayed in a hotel & had to pay extra for internet access!

Convenient location close to beach

Although our room was a little tired in terms of decor, the spaciousness and convenience of having a full kitchen and lounge more than made up for this. We had a lovely view of the hills from our room. The hotel had a great location 2 blocks from the beach and because of this, was much quieter than being in the thick of Waikiki. It is aimed at families and if you are averse to children, it’s not for you but we loved its friendly staff and rustic charm, as well as the great amount of space - it really was bang for buck!

great for families

Pros: location and size of apartment
Cons: dated decor - needs renovating and needs new beds
The Banyan is one bedroom apartments that all have kitchens. The apartment is a decent enough size. Most of them are privately owned and rented out. The one we stayed in which was a deluxe ocean view was quite dated and the beds were terrible. Not withstanding that I like the location of the hotel its just out side the real busy area of Waikiki, its only one block from the beach and a short walk into the heart of Waikiki. I like the space in the apartment and we were on the 36th floor so beautiful views. I like having the kitchen ( with full sized fridge/ microwave and stove/oven) it meant we could cut food costs by doing breakfasts, lunch and snacks in the room. The pool / BBQ area is basic and dated but it is a large area so heaps of space. There is a relatively cheap pool snack bar - food is average but again does the job and is convenient if you're hanging by the pool. There are enough lifts so you don't have to wait too long for one .....but they are old and slow. The hotel staff are friendly enough but nothing above and beyond.

Nice room with a view of the ocean. A little dated but still clean and comfortable. Easily accommodated our group of five. Helpful hotel staff - very pleasant.

Dissatisfied

Pros: Bus Stop.
Cons: Comfortable seating in the Foyer.
Location: Close to Zoo.
Arrived early had to pay $70 to access our Room . Stayed 14 Nights very disappointed. Also we notified them at checkin we would be vacationing the room at 4.30am on our last day but they said it would make no Different.
