I know its a budget place but it was nothing like the photos. Rubbish everywhere, bags of rubbish at our front door, empty beer cans everywhere. Room was dirty, walk around without shoes on and feet turn black. Air con was filthy so we didnt use. No smoke alarm in room either, not sure how they comply. Appears they are attempting to do renos, looks very DIY job. Making noise with power tools late into the night. Lucky this was only a quick 1 night stop over otherwise we would have cancelled our room and gone elsewhere

Room was ok for a one night stay. The gravel parking lot was a bit noisy as cars drove in and out, room was not functional with outlets not usable due to their locations, main light did not work properly.

Friendly and comfortable
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The check in was really easy and well handled with a friendly smile. And the cleaning lady was not only working SUPER hard to get the rooms ready in hot and humid weather, but she was friendly, helpful and approachable. It was a real shame the pool was still out of service, but the staff were extremely apologetic about it and explained the issue was with the broken pool pump. The room was clean and comfortable. The fridge is tiny and the freezer part doesn't actually get down to freezing temperature, but this was really only an issue because I was going camping and needed to keep things cold. Location is pretty good - steps away from the supermarket and some food places and 5 minutes drive to the Heron Island Ferry. There do seem to be a lot of "residential" units where long-termers are staying, but all seemed quite friendly. The restaurant staff use the motel carpark so you may not always be able to park in front of your own unit but there did seem to be adequate parking in the lot.
