The location of this hotel is great for exploring George Town as it is very central. We were disappointed by the cleanliness of the room. We asked for the shower curtain to be changed as it had black mould and the replacement was also dirty. The shower only produced a trickle of water. The free daily welcome drinks were a choice of soft drinks or white or red wine of questionable origin. Most of the food at breakfast was cold even when we ate very early. The food is halal i.e. turkey bacon and chicken sausages. They would cook eggs to order but we did not get what we asked for. The reception staff were generally friendly and helpful.

Very centrally located within easy walking distance to Chinatown and little India. Only criticism is not coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms

Great value for money

Pros: Location, value, the freebies
Cons: nothing at all significant
Location: Centre of cultural/historical zone. Good food stalls.
Stayed at Chulia Mansion; great, central location in historical/cultural zone of Georgetown. Value for money is excellent - nice, compact rooms, very good buffet breakfast (really only need 1 more meal per day; evening on the rooftop is lovely - cool breezes and free wine for a period; can't forget to mention the 24 hour free icecream!! And very close to a good array of food stalls serving typical Penangese great food.

Excellent location, friendly staff

Pros: Staff, location, rooftop, free drinks/ice-cream/biscuits
Cons: Offer hash browns as part of the breakfast buffet
Location: Lebuh Chulia, Lebuh Armenia, Chew Jetty, Teochew Puppet Theatre, Cheong Fatt Tze, Love Lane, Fort Cornwallis are all located within a 10 minute walk
Rooms themselves are satisfactory. Hotel is centrally located and is walking distance to most cultural attractions. The staff were particularly friendly and always happy to help. The rooftop bar and spa were lovely and offered free-flow white wine from 5:30 to 7:30 every evening. Very good value for money.

Very new hotel in a busy location.

Pros: Nice outdoor bar on roof
Enjoyed the stay, the staff were very helpful. facilities were also very good.

An incredible place to stay!

The staff are lovely and value-for-money is amazing! It is centrally located, right in amongst the chaotic streets of Penang. The rooftop bar gives you views of the city, and the free anytime cafe (coffee tea and biscuits) is a great place to unwind and cool off.
