The airconditioning in our room didn't work and the only option given to us was to open the widow wider. We were in a room on the 1st floor above the entrace door with guests coming and going at all hours, banging car doors, smoke smells coming in - it was a nightmare stay without any offer of compensation and no offer of a replacement room on the night. Very disappointed. Additionally the area is very seedy.

The hotel itself was as expected for a Holiday Inn, though the bed was very hard, the bedding stiff ( absolutely no comparison to the gorgeous sheets at Holiday Inn Dubai Festival City). I forgot a UK adaptor and despite the signs saying if you forget anything.. they didn't have one. Room service didn't answer. Usually you get free bottles of water, here I found I was charged a mini bar price, even though it was on an open shelf. The area around the hotel was not safe, red light district and a lot of homeless and drug addicts on the streets. As a solo woman traveller would not walk from the hotel

The walk from the main railway station, if you follow Google Maps, takes you through a loud red light district. Other routes are much safer
