Secluded home hidden in an ancient, enchanted forest with beautiful creek

Beautiful Stonewood Retreat is a private holiday house hidden away amongst 130 million year old rainforest within the World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest. It offers a peaceful and secluded place to relax and enjoy surrounded by some of the most spectacular and pristine rainforest and magical private crystal clear swimming pools. The natural beauty of the cascading waterfalls, swimming pools, ancient boulders and private rainforest walking trails offer a very special and unique experience that will enchant you. The house is comfortable and modern with elements of rustic design. Open spaces that welcome the outside in, offer views of the rainforest from every corner of the house. The open plan design allows the sun to spill in from every angle while filtering through the cool of the forest. Perfect secluded hideaway
This is the perfect secluded hideaway up in the Daintree. What a gorgeous home, complete with outdoor bath (my all time favourite) Lovely built holiday home, with loads of character, and multiple outdoor areas to chill, and catch some sunrays, or keep dry under the verandah. Although this sleeps up to 4. The single bed is in the main living area. So just make sure your little ones are good with this setup. The pantry is stocked with some basic supplies (sugar, coffee, some spices, sauce), and loads of tea. There is some added extras, such as a picnic rug, iceblocks, and esky. Which are great for taking on a daytrip. I found the only thing missing was alfoil. There is TV, with a selection of dvds. And some board games to keep you entertained in the evening. Communication from Kaylene was fabulous. Instruction on what to bring (ie there are no supermarkets in Diwan) to clear directions. The private rock pools were definitely what sold this property for me. Having our own personal, croc free, swim hole. Unfortunately it was a bit cold for us West Aussies, and I only took one dip . The listing is pretty accurate, what you see is what you get. Would definitely recommend, and would love to go back. Thanks for a beautiful holiday in the Daintree!

The property was in a secluded, beautiful and amazing piece of rainforest. The weather was cool but sunny and did not affect our ability to experience everything on offer. Thank you Kaylene.

An absolute stunning property surrounded by the rainforest. We did not like the steps to the creek but it was too cold to swim anyway. It was during the cold snap that hit Queensland.

What an amazing property Kayleen shares. We felt very lucky to spend 2 nights here for our 20 year Wedding Anniversary. Property is very private with the most amazing private swimming hole out back we didn't want to leave. Comfortable bed and fully equipped house. Thanks again Kayleen for having us. Hope to stay again sometime.

Rainforest, waterfalls and waterholes - just perfect
Kaylene’s Stonewood Retreat is an amazing place - a beautiful peaceful home, eco friendly with views all around and the soothing sounds of the waterfall. Paths through the forest lead to a private waterhole which we swam in everyday. Spring fed, it was refreshing and just beautiful in the sunshine. We also loved the bath on the deck, a long soak at dusk listening to the birds and frogs was the perfect way to end the day. Stonewood Retreat is the perfect base to explore the Daintree. It’s a short drive to Thornton Beach for a beach walk and delicious lunch. A million miles from the cares of the world, we stayed for 7 days and wished we could have stayed longer. Hopefully we will be able to stay again.
