This was our 5th stay at Royal Solaris (our 8th stay at a Solaris property!). Everything was great. We loved the mojitos, baby mango shots, mudslides, and basil lemon drinks (special at Marco Polo). For food, we loved the steak! The Beef Medallions at Marco Polo are filet mignon cut! We also loved the Tequila Shrimp at Rosmarius and the Salmon at Marco Polo. The cream soups are amazing. The chicken wings and jalapeño poppers at the snack bar were also favorites! The grounds were very clean and so was our room. We loved the house keeper for our room—he did a wonderful job. Desserts were bad this trip—very small selection. Nothing with chocolate the whole week. No more fruit tarts or cheesecake from previous years. On Valentine’s Day, Marco Polo must have been under staffed. It was the worst service we’ve ever had at Solaris dining. Also, the person who checked us in was rude and unhelpful. This is the first time we’ve ever experienced rudeness from any Solaris staff (Menses).

You cannot swim directly in front of the hotel so you have to walk a little down the beach but it was no problem for us. Everything else was good and the safe was really friendly

Do not stay here!!! This place is straight out of the horror movie The Shining..it’s overrun by screaming children and trashy drunk parents that are to ripped to care. Our room- no balcony and windows don’t open, so no relief from the horrid moody smell. Our TV did not work for 2 days before we were given a different one. The walls are paper thin and you could literally hear the people next door fart..disgusting! There was no water coming out of the shower, I mean absolutely no water, you had to wait for your gassy neighbor to finish his shower before you had access to any water in your faucet. Our room was never cleaned. We had to beg the maid texting in the hallway to at least come empty our bathroom waste basket and give us more toilet paper. Elevator-we we’re on the 8th floor and the elevator button did not work. When we complained to the front desk, they told us the will fill out a request to have it fixed. Well it never got fixed and we were forced to take the service elevator with the staff. The buffet-Chucky Cheese nightmare, imagine screaming kids running through out the echoing dinning hall handling everything on the buffet with their dirty hands…staff force you to sit where they want you to sit at the buffet and unless you slip them $50 you will never get a table by the windows to escape the chaos of cranky brats. Hot tubs - are full of babies in diapers, and more screaming kids..only competing with blaring music. Same at the pool. Do NOT stay here!!!

the staff was amazing and they do such a wonderful job. the resort itself, not so much. There’s nothing to do and when there is, it’s timed. the food is horrible, we spent a lot of money outside of the resort just to eat. You’re paying an all inclusive price for house liquor and undercooked food. in order to receive food or drinks worth anything, you have to buy into their “vacation club” timeshare of 23,000. the only good thing about the resort is it’s hard-working workers who aren’t trying to suck your wallet dry the whole trip.

Overall, not bad place to stay while in Cancun. Food and drinks were good. I wouldn't stay here again only because of the surplus of resorts in the area. I would go and check out a resort that I haven't been to before.
