The Baume Couture Boutique Hotel
95, Singwang-ro, Jeju
"This was my 5th or 6th time visiting Jeju, and my first time staying at this hotel and in the Shin-Jeju-si area. Baume was very quiet and peaceful, and I would be more than happy to stay there again. The double-standard room was much more spacious than anticipated, and my wife and I were quite pleased with it. The hotel is essentially on the edge of Shin-jeju's shopping district, or locally known as Jeju's "china town" as this area is most frequented by Chinese tourists. The area is chill, with many restaurants, shops, cafes, etc. Taxis are readily available almost anywhere here, and good bus routes to the Jeju Bus Terminal and other viable locations run alongside or close to the hotel. If you arrive to hotel and are looking for a good place to eat, look no further than the Korean beef grill restaurant right around the corner from the hotel called "GRAM GRAM." My wife and I ate there several times. Delicious, guaranteed. My only small pique with the hotel is that their "do not disturb" sign does not equally translate well. At this hotel, is it translated as "do not wake me up." Thus, I was a little surprised to find that my room had been entered into and cleaned when I returned in the evening having had put on the "do not disturb" sign a few mornings. It's no biggie, but I did have a few personal things out. Also, make sure to put a towel down on the bathroom floor, as it gets very slippery when wet.Overall, it's a great, chill place to stay."
