Description

Head out into Moreton Bay for a day of whale watching and fun island activities. The warm, sheltered bay is the ideal location for sea life, and you have a chance to spot whales as they go about their daily lives. Then, visit Tangalooma Island Resort for some beach-based relaxation.

Make your way to Holt Street Wharf and hop on board a comfortable, Moreton Island-bound vessel. Along the way, be sure to check out the plants and animals that call these turquoise waters and sandy shores home. Depending on when your cruise departs, you either start or close out your time on the island with a whale-watching cruise or with some free time to explore the resort and take part in some tropical games.

Board Australia's largest dedicated whale-watching boat and find the perfect seat. Keep your eyes peeled for a fin or fluke as you listen closely as the eco-ranger shares fascinating information about whales and their fishy friends. Humpback, southern right, and killer whales all swim in these calm, temperate waters, and you have a chance to spot them with the help of the crew. In between spouts, enjoy a light lunch served on board the catamaran.

Venture over to the Tangalooma Island Resort and take a dip in one of their pools or watch the eco-ranger's “Discover the World of Dolphins” presentation. You can also upgrade your experience with a dolphin viewing or wild dolphin feeding. No matter what you choose to do, take some time to laze in the sun before you board the boat back to Brisbane.

Really enjoyed watching the whales frolicking. Made us very happy. The crew were very helpful. I was starting to feel sea sick. They gave me travelcalm and ginger which helped me. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend the tour.

Great whale sightings! The commentary was interesting, and I learned a lot. There was not a lot of time on shore, but it was an enjoyable trip with the numerous whale sightings as the highlight.
